TECNOSTENT S.A. is a Colombian company founded in Medellín Colombia in 1999, focused on developing medical technology. Our company is the only manufacturer in Colombia of self expanding metal stents for the digestive tract. Our stents are manufactured holding all INVIMA’s certifications required for the manufacture of medical devices.

Our Founders
Jorge Enrique Lopera
Medical surgeon of Medellín’s Institute of Health Sciences, radiologist of the University of Antioquia. Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology studies at University of Louisiana (USA). He has several publications about the use and development of stents. Currently, Dr. Lopera is the professor of Radiology and Director of Interventional Radiology at Center for Health Sciences of the UT, San Antonio, Texas (USA).
Óscar Alberto Álvarez
Dr. Álvarez is Medical Surgeon and Radiologist Medellín’s Institute of Health Sciences, Gastroenterologist of University of Texas (USA). Additional studies on Gastroenterology and Nutrition and ERCP in the same university. Extensive clinical, teaching and research experience in Radiology and Gastroenterology. More than 37 clinical studies of his own have been published. Lecturer on more than 30 scientific events in Colombia and the United States. Dr. Álvarez is considered a reference and pioneer in endoscopic procedures in Colombia and he has participated on the development of stents.
Jorge Restrepo Restrepo
Mechanical Engineer and Magister in Mechanical Engineering at University of Florida (USA), extensive experience in design, development, and manufacturing of medical and industrial machines and devices and parts.

HUSVF has been a leader in complex procedures such as transplants, cardiology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, oncology, among others. In addition, HUSVF is also known for its participation in many academic activities.
Specialized Centers of San Vicente Fundación is a secondary headquarter of HUSVF. It was founded in Rionegro City in 2011. It’s accredited by Joint Commission International.
